Top tech companies like Meta, Apple, and Google are busy handling the hardware side of gaming, working hard to develop the next hit gaming device. As for the games themselves, a startup called AEXLAB has created a hit of its own.

This gaming company is creating immersive, Virtual Reality-based experiences. Its first franchise, VAIL, is a first-person action game that adds a social element that today’s gamers are looking for. Essentially, players “load” into an interactive space in the game, and socialize in a VR environment before starting competitive matches.

VAIL released on Meta Quest (Meta’s line of VR headsets) in February 2024 and was named VR Game of the Year at the annual Webby awards. Notable investors in AEXLAB include Valor Equity, Fuel Venture Capital, and Subversive Capital.
